Vernon Trumbull & His Kinsmen

Vernon Trumbull & His Kinsmen play a mix of hard rock, blues, and outlaw country steeped in the humidity of Houston and the Piney Woods of East Texas. They call this swampy musical gumbo Bayoubilly — a bayou-city born collision of grit, groove, and gasoline.

At the center stands Vernon Trumbull — self-proclaimed King of Bayoubilly. Forged in the steel shadows of Youngstown, Ohio, Vernon first took the stage during punk’s early riot years, when volume was currency and survival was art. Eventually the highway pulled him south, chasing heat and horizon, until Texas finally stuck. In Houston, he found his Kinsmen...and that sound.

His Kinsmen are veteran badasses who've seen and done a thing or two and played everywhere from honky tonks to arenas.

Mark Weathers locks down the low end with his Fender bass — formerly of Josefus, Spunk, and legendary Soundmasters studio — keeps it deep down and muddy with power and groove.

Leesa Harrington-Squyres on drums, hits like a thunderhead rolling in off the Gulf. A powerhouse whose work spans Josefus, Carolyn Wonderland, Lez Zeppelin and beyond, she doesn’t keep time — she commands it.

Scott Ayers, formerly of Pain Teens and true wizard of the guitar, bends the edges of the room with a style that blends psychedelic shimmer, punk snarl, blues grit, and pure noise.

Serious players... DEAD serious about having a good time.

Their latest release, Death & Texas, will be streaming everywhere and available on LP and CD on June 5th.

Listen up and drink up that Bayoubilly gumbo.
